Overview
Dr. Adam Gazzaley is the David Dolby Distinguished Professor of Neurology, Physiology, and Psychiatry at UCSF and Founder of Neuroscape, a center focused on creating and studying innovative brain and cognitive enhancement technologies. He holds an M.D. and Ph.D. from Mount Sinai, completed his Neurology residency at UPenn, and trained in cognitive neuroscience at UC Berkeley.
At Neuroscape, he leads the development of closed-loop video games and other technologies (e.g., VR, AR, EEG, TMS) for cognitive assessment and enhancement, tested through rigorous research. He co-founded Akili Interactive and JAZZ Venture Partners, and advises numerous major companies. Gazzaley has authored over 160 scientific articles, holds multiple patents, and is widely recognized through media and awards, including a PBS special and the PROSE Award-winning book The Distracted Mind.
